Celebrating the end of Y1S1

Semester 1 literally flashed passed within a blink of an eye. It felt as though i was still on a holiday until the last 2 weeks before my exams because that was when I was burning the midnight oil. Over this period, I’ve learnt several things like; how uni life is much more chillax compared to pri, sec, and JC life; how lectures are completely (subjective) useless because I’ve never attended a single one apart from the first; how having good friends and seniors beside you are essential as part of uni survival 101. I’ve also come to realise how much I enjoy group work and the whole dynamics of it. Two things I regret:  not being able to stay through the whole of Inflammare camp and missing the sign up date for hall camp.

Diving into the labyrinth of my mind

Just as Napoleon Hill said, ‘Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.’ I’ve been really intrigued by the Law of Attraction these days for some peculiar reason. Not that I don’t know about it, but as I was watching BonnyRebecca’s video on how the Law of Attraction has worked for her as well as Annie Tarasova’s videos, I became really interested and wanted to test it out for myself.

Living in my Cocoon

Now that the semester is over, and I’m home most of the time, I have the liberty of time to prepare my own breakfast, lunch and dinner. Never did I ever like to cook, the only time i’m in the kitchen is to grab a snack, blend a smoothie, or to refill water. I’m also afraid of fire and how frying stuff makes your hair smell. What changed was when Nic made aglio olio, mashed potatoes, and abc pasta that was absolutely gastronomical especially the aglio olio. I felt ambitious that day and decided to replicate them hahaha.

A Day Like No Other

Unlike any other day, it was our monthversary.  1/11 is actually World Vegan day and hence well dressed had a promo: 3 cakes for $10!! And I was craving for em. After a long day in school, I went to Nic’s house only to be ‘surprised’  by my favourite foods from well dressed! I say ‘surprised’ because I hinted that i wanted the tofu burger and 3 cakes – french vanilla, banana chocolate and chai latte crumble. 😛

Please excuse the lighting it was at 12am that i ate all these. I can’t remember why I only reached his house that late. Nonetheless, it tasted amazing. To be honest, the tofu burger ain’t my favourite, it was pretty hard and dry to me , maybe because it was cold when i ate it. But that doesn’t stop me from being Well Dressed’s loyal customer 😉 there are plenty of other delectable dishes worth making a second trip (++++)

Although 1st Nov was 10 days ago, I feel that credit has to be given to my wonderful Marketing group mates – KK, CY, Bobby, and Jocelyn. I can still recall myself going early for the first ever marketing class to form my group before jetting off someplace else. Ever since then, we’ve been meeting up almost every single week to discuss tutorials. Our friendship blossomed and bloomed 🙂 Each of us got closer and we would frequently meet up to study too. 1.11.16 was the day that marked the end of our marketing module for the semester. It was truly a bittersweet one. It took us days and nights to churn out a 15 page marketing report on our awesome idea Nanofarms. After our finally marketing presentation, we headed to hive for a mandatory photoshoot.

As we’re ‘Amateur Farmers with the World’s Finest Produce’, we brought along our hats and one of us suggested that we have some fun throwing our hats. Although we took many shots of us tossing the hat, this shot was actually the very first shot and it was the best one 😛 hahahha.

Here are some photos of my beautiful friends looking smart

Our day ended off with crispy fries and drinks at NTU’s very own cafe/bar at North Spine called Pen & Inc. I didn’t even know this cafe existed like omg, I was missing out for the past 4 months. Alcoholic drinks ranged from 8 bucks to 13 (?) bucks while their mocktails, were about 4-6 bucks? I can’t remember the exact price, but it was really really affordable. They were also having a promotion – 2 pints of beer and we’ll get a basket of free classic fries. Such deals are a must snaggggg. What impressed me most was how posh and chic the interior looked.

If i’m not wrong, there are Vegan options as Pen & Inc. has a customisable bowl where you can pick and choose your ingredients. Oh, also their fries are not fried in the same oil as any of the meat – so its completely VEGAN! 🙂 Their staff are also really friendly. KK and CY initially ordered a cocktail but after me mentioning the promotion, we requested to change their order to 2 pints of beer. Their manager even said that he would do whatever it takes to help us get the free fries. Such commendable level of service.

Many people have told me that in Uni, you’ll meet nasty and competitive people, that you’ll never find true friends. But I beg to differ. I’m truly blessed and grateful to these bunch of people that have helped me secured my A or A+ in Marketing and also helping me out with miscellaneous stuff like completing my ILE for me ^^

xx, love you guys//Cheers 😉

Guud Fuud, Awesome Company!

My Sunday morning began with a meeting with my marketing group mates at Rochester’s Starbucks. By then, the Christmas drinks were already launched and Starbucks was just playing their Christmas playlist. My group mates and I spent a good 15 min chillin’ and relaxing. The weather was perfect, a little chilly due to the early morning showers, the songs were on point, and I had a warm cup of my favourite soy green tea latte in a mug. It was all about the chill vibes ~ Just soaking in the atmosphere~ sitting there brought back tons of memories as I used to frequent there while preparing for the A levels last year. The feeling was so refreshing, especially with the company of my lovely friends. I swear I would never get sick of mornings like this.

Since I brought my camera that day, I decided to snap a photo of one of my group member – KK. And this photo actually became his most-liked photo on Instagram at that time! 🙂 Not exactly my best shot, but aperture definitely worked in his favour.

SGFW: Shopping Spree and Art Jam

I noticed a couple of posts on Instagram mentioning how it’s fashion week in Singapore. All I could think about was how glamorous it would be to be a part of the fashion show, even as an audience. Hence, I didn’t think too much about it neither did I dress up for the occasion. Our day (29/10) began with a warm and hearty lunch at O’bean.

Nic had a major craving for the noodles (i forgot the name of the dish) since forever while I was pretty sick of the noodles so I decided to give their Signature porridge a go instead.  To be honest, I was pretty impressed when I took the first bite into the porridge. However, subsequently, as I dived deeper into the porridge, there was this overwhelming herbal-ly taste that just ruined the entire porridge. Plus there was ginger slices mixed into it which wasn’t to my liking. I personally didn’t enjoy it at all, and couldn’t finish it. Nic’s dumpling noodles were much better than mine, that I can attest. Those dumplings are the best Vegan dumplings I’ve ever had.

Overeasy, Potatoey Night Out!

28 Oct 2016. It was Nic’s book out day again! 🙂 That means time for some night adventures! The taste of Overeasy’s sweet potato fries that we first had while we were with Maven just kept haunting and taunting us that we couldn’t take it no more. We just had to get some of them that night. Just in case you were wondering, these fries are Vegan, as they aren’t fried in the same oil as meat or other non Vegan stuff. And I really appreciate the fact that the staff actually understood the word Vegan (and pronounced it right). Most people pronounce it as ‘VAEE-GAN’ when it’s supposed to be ‘VEEEE-GANN’.

A Sneak Peak into The Future

Although 21st October was long gone, I still feel the need to write a blog post of our day’s events. It’s just really nostalgic to revisit all those events and relive those emotions. How my brain works is that it would go through all that has happened in the day trying its best not to miss a single detail. It’s only after writing it out that I see how even the smallest of things are worth remembering.

My day started off with a major craving for Well Dressed Salad Bar’s Vegan Brunch set. Prior to my virgin experience of eating this amazing meal, all I could do was to drool over images of it on Instagram posted by some of my friends. I just had to eat it. The day has finally arrived where it’s my turn to devour this plate of goodness!
